Hi @Georgeyy,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Officejet Pro 8610 e-All-in-One Printer is displaying a "Missing or Failed Printhead" error message, you can try the following troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue:

  1. Check Printhead Installation:
    • Make sure that the printhead is properly installed. Open the printer cover and ensure that the printhead is securely in place.
  2. Restart the Printer:
    • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
    • Wait for about 60 seconds before plugging it back in and turning it on.
  3. Update Firmware:
    • Ensure that your printer's firmware is up-to-date. Visit the HP website and download the latest firmware for your printer model. Follow the instructions provided to update the firmware.
  4. Clean Printhead Contacts:
    • Turn off the printer and unplug it.
    • Open the printhead access door.
    • Remove the printhead and clean the electrical contacts on the printhead and in the printer with a lint-free cloth moistened with distilled water.
    • Allow the contacts to dry completely before reinstalling the printhead.
  5. Reset the Printer:
    • Turn off the printer and unplug it.
    • Wait for about 60 seconds.
    • Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
  6. Check for Physical Damage:
    • Inspect the printhead for any visible damage. If you find any, you may need to replace the printhead.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
