hp officejet 7110
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I get "missing or failed printhead" when trying to print.  From what I gather on the net this is a wellknown problem for hp printers.

Things I have tried to avail:

- removing and reinserting all 4 cartridges

(yes, they are hp cartridges)

- wiping the cartridges with cloth (but anyway I do not think this is a problem with the cartridges)

- turning on and off (many times! obviously), including disconnecting from mains

- updating the firmware - the firmware flasher claims the update is "not applicable", though it claims to be for 7110 and I found it using the serial number, so rather odd really...

Apparently for some of these printers, one can try to fix it because the printhead can be removed.  In 7110 the printhead cannot, so this is not an option.

Can you please service my printer!  it is barely a year old, I really have not used it much.  The warranty has run out, but I think this is clearly a well-known problem with the 7110 series, common decency should tell you what to do.

Printer details:

"HP OfficeJet 7110 Wide Format ePrinter - H812a
Garantistatus:  Producentgarantien er udløbet - Se detaljer
Serienummer: [edited]
Produktnummer:CR768A"

Sincerely,

T. Olesen.

Hello Oleseen,

I understand you are getting error missing or failed printhead. As you mentioned this printer does not have a replacable printhead. Please try reset following the below document and if this does not work then call our technical support and if the printer is within warranty agent will replace the unit.

My sentiment too about HP.  Never again HP.  Unfortunately, Canon is very likely the same.

Thanks for the support but still getting the same issue! I believe it can be fixed by replacing the printer head!
