HP Deskjet 6980 Printer series
macOS 10.12 Sierra

My 6980 printer had a paper jam which I was able to completety clear. I was  then able to use printer utility to print a test page just fine. but the printer refuses to recognize that the paper jam has been cleared, and so it continully gives me the message: on my MAC : "paper jam" - and won't  print a regular document. I rebooted several times, turned off all power to the unit, gave it lots of time... nothing. What do I do next? Is there a way to clear the memory or is the computer inside this printer finally shot?

In reply to your previous message: the printer was working just the day before. I have not made any changes, or added anything at all. I will check out your link on paper jam....

OK so I did the last few steps: namely finding that clutch, holding it in and turning the wheels.... followed through with complete restart of computer, etc...
