Hello, @lane50 – Hope you are well 🙂

Thanks for stopping by the HP Support Forums! This is a wonderful location to converse with the community, get assistance and find tips!

I understand that you are having trouble while printing using the Officejet 4632 printer. Let’s perform a power drain on the printer to try and fix the issue. Here are the steps:

  • Remove the cartridges from the printer.
  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Remove USB cable, if present.
  • Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.
  • Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord (This is important) and then plug back the power cord to the printer.
  • Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle and insert the cartridges.

Now, try making a copy on the printer. Place a document face down on the scanner glass and press the copy option on the printer control panel. Let me know if it makes a good copy or not.

If the copy comes out fine, then let’s try to fix this issue using HP Print and Scan Doctor (PSDR). PSDR is an automated tool which can diagnose and resolve printing and scanning problems. Please go to http://hp.care/2bZ9w2q to download and run HP PSDR. Once you open the program, select your printer and click on “Fix Printing” to automatically diagnose and fix the issue.

Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance!

Good luck 🙂

I have done all the steps above and am still unable to print my documents from Word, Excel and Quicken.  Also, am unable to print a test page from Print & Scan Doctor.  The printer did make a good copy.  This printer is only about 1 year old.  I am at a vacation home and after several months returned, replaced the ink cartridges and tried to print to now avail.  I have been spending days on trying to fix this printer problem and am running out of patience.  Could someone please give me some information that will resolve my printing problem.  Thanks.

Ok, I ran Print & Scan Doctor again.  First test print, sent page to printer and there was no print.  Second test Print, the internal print did print, so I get the message to uninstall the software because the tool cannot fix it.  I get the same results everytime when I run Print & Scan Doctor and I have gone through the uninstall many times.  HELP PLEASE.

I uninstalled the software once again and reinstalled it.  Ran HP Print& Scan and since I did not print the second test, instructions are to reinstall the software.  When I installed this time I disabled the network security features.  I continue to have the same problem.  I can copy and print on the printer.  My laptop computer with Windows 10 is running fine.  I have to conclude there is a problem with the HP software.  It is not the printer since it prints manually from the printer and my laptop works fine except for printing.  I would like to have this matter resolved by HP so I can move on and start printing.
