Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

It prints test page when given directly from printer ( by closing the lid several times) but fails to print test page when given from a computer. amber light blinks several times and then green light turns on. any idea.? Hardware should be fine as it can print test page directly. Gives an error ' Error printing on HP P1008'

I tried uninstalling the driver and reinstalling, restarting the print spooler , changing the usb port etc

Welcome to the HP support community.

A general error or a manual feed error occurred. Follow these steps to recover from the error:

  1. Remove all loose paper from the main tray, the priority feed slot, and the output bin.

       CAUTION:

Do not try to remove jammed paper at this stage.

  2. Lift the print cartridge door, and then remove the print cartridge from the product.

  3. With both hands, grasp the paper where it is most visible, including the middle, and then carefully pull the paper out of the product.
