Hi @Joebingles ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are facing an issue with your HP ENVY 7645 printer caught in a printing loop. Here's what you can do to stop the printing and resolve the issue:
Step 1: Cancel the Print Job
- From the Printer:
- Press the Cancel button on the printer's control panel if it has one.
- From Your Computer:
- On Windows:
- Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
- Right-click your HP ENVY 7645 and select See what's printing.
- Right-click the print job and select Cancel.
- On Mac:
- Open System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
- Select your printer and click Open Print Queue.
- Cancel the job.
- On Windows:
Step 2: Restart the Printer
- Turn off your printer.
- Unplug the printer from the power source for 1-2 minutes.
- Plug it back in and turn it on.
Step 3: Clear Stuck Print Jobs
If the job doesn't cancel:
- Press Ctrl + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
- Scroll to Print Spooler, right-click it, and select Stop.
- Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS and delete all files in this folder.
- Go back to services.msc, right-click Print Spooler, and select Start.
Step 4: Check for Software Glitches
- Open the document you tried to print and check the settings to ensure it isn't set to print excessively (e.g., multiple copies or a loop).
- Restart your computer to ensure the system isn't sending duplicate print commands.
Step 5: Update Printer Firmware Update the firmware on an HP printer
Outdated firmware can cause issues:
- Go to the HP Support website.
- Search for your printer model.
- Download and install any firmware updates.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
