HP OfficeJet 4650 All-in-One Printer

Hi, my printer's power seems to have gone :(.  I tried the cord on a different appliance and it works.  I checked the plug and it works.  But when I plug in cord, the power is not there.  The virtual assistant says I need a power module, shrug.  I tried looking for one but could not find it.

Does anyone have any ideas re power?  Or getting a power module?  Thanks so very much, Yasmine

Hi @yasdaz,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you're experiencing an issue with your printer that is not powering on.

I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused, I'm here to help you today.

Please follow the steps below to fix the issue.

- Perform a power drain on the printer.

1) Take out the cartridges

2) Unplug the power cord from the printer & wall.

3) Press and hold the power button down for 15 seconds and release the power button, wait for about 30 seconds.

4) Plug the power cord back into the printer and wall outlet directly, ensure the printer is plugged into the wall & not into a surge protector.

5) Insert the cartridges back into the printer.

Remove the cartridges > Unplug the power cord > Wait for 30 seconds > Plug the power cord back in > Insert the cartridges

- Update the printer firmware by clicking on this link if the printer turns on.

- If the issue still persists, try with an alternate power cable that is compatible with your printer.

Please mark this post as “Accepted Solution” if the issue is resolved and if you feel this reply was helpful click “Yes”.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day

Hi, thanks so much for your ideas :).  I can't take the cartridges out as they don't move when I lift the top as there is no power to the machine :(.  Also, I used the cord to power another appliance so I believe the cord is fine, it seems like it is something to do with the printer's power system inside?  I appreciate your time with helping me, Yasmine

Thanks for your message and I will follow up.  I am curious about how I was supposed to get the cartridges out of the machine when there was no power?  Am I missing a way to get the cartridges out?  Yasmine
