To resolve the activation error on your HP Officejet 6700 Premium E-All-In-One Printer and address the issue with HP Print & Scan Doctor not downloading, follow these steps:

 

Step 1: Resolve the Activation Error

Restart the Printer and Computer:

  • Turn off your printer and computer.
  • Wait for about 60 seconds.
  • Turn on your printer and computer again.

Check Printer Connection:

  • Ensure your printer is properly connected to your computer or network.
  • If connected via USB, try plugging the cable into a different USB port.
  • If connected wirelessly, make sure the printer is connected to the correct network.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Go to the HP Support website.
  • Enter your printer model (HP Officejet 6700 Premium).
  • Download and install the latest firmware for your printer.

Reset Printer to Factory Settings:

  • On the printer control panel, go to the setup menu.
  • Select Tools or Printer Maintenance.
  • Choose Restore Factory Defaults.

Reinstall Printer Drivers:

  • Uninstall the existing printer driver from your computer.
  • Go to the HP Support website and download the latest driver for your printer model.

Step 2: Download and Use HP Print & Scan Doctor

Try an Alternative Browser:

  • Sometimes, switching to a different browser (e.g., from Chrome to Firefox) can help with downloading issues.

Disable Firewall/Antivirus Temporarily:

  • Temporarily disable your firewall or antivirus software, as it might be blocking the download.
  • Remember to enable it again after downloading.

Download Directly from HP:

  • Visit the HP Print & Scan Doctor download page directly.
  • Click on the download link provided.

Check Internet Connection:

  • Ensure your internet connection is stable.
  • If you have a weak connection, try moving closer to your router or resetting your internet connection.

Clear Browser Cache:

  • Clear your browser's cache and cookies, then try downloading again.

Additional Troubleshooting Steps

Manual IP Address Assignment:

  • If your printer is connected to the network, assign a manual IP address through the printer's control panel settings.
  • This can sometimes resolve connectivity and activation issues.
