There are three common causes of this issue:
1. You have a corrupted file, try printing a different document. You may need to clear the print queue before you will be able to print a different document. 2. The installed driver is not the correct driver. If step 1 above does not resolve the issue then you will want to uninstall the driver and reinstall. Go to support.hp.com to find current drivers for your printer.
3. Bad communication cable, try a different USB or network cable to eliminate that possibility. (this is least common issue)
