my printer often uses whole page to print a few lines very large text hp 4523 envy

often when i print off my iphone the text comes out very large taking up a whole page for a few lines

Hi @sam1951

I understand that you are trying to print from your iPhone device and is having issues with the font size. I'd like to help

If your printing from HP Smart

1. Tap a Print tile to print from your device, social media account, or cloud storage, or tap the icons along the bottom of the screen.

   

2. If printing from an online account, follow any on-screen prompts to sign in.

3. Find a photo or document.

4. Tap Print or the Printer icon .

Change print settings on your iOS or iPadOS device.

1. On the HP Smart app home screen, tap a Print or Scan tile.

2. Select or scan the document or photo you want to print.

3. Tap Edit.

4. Tap icons at the bottom of the screen to change print settings such as number of copies, color options, or page size.

5. When you are ready to print, tap Done to save the changes and return to the Preview screen, and then tap Print.

Make sure to select fit to page under printer settings before printing.

if the issue persists,

 Print from your Apple device

Print documents, photos, and webpages using AirPrint.

1. Make sure the printer is turned on, ink cartridges are installed, and plain paper is loaded in the main tray.

2. Open the item you want to print, and then tap the Share icon  or  .

3. Tap Print or the Print icon  to open Printer Options.

4. Tap Select Printer to select your printer.

5. Change any of the following print job settings. Available settings vary depending on the app you are printing from, the print job type, and your printer.

   • Paper: Make any paper size changes on the printer. AirPrint automatically detects the paper size loaded in the printer or the size selected on the printer control panel. If the detected size is different than the paper in the tray, an error might display asking to confirm the size.

   • Number of copies: Select how many copies you want to print.

   • Black & White: Select to print in grayscale. This option only displays for color printers.

   • Double-sided printing: Print on both sides of the paper for certain file types.

   • Page range: Select specific pages within a document or webpage to print.
