I have a HP Eny 6400 e printer. New and have not had any issues with it. Now it will not print except for the test page after running the HP test. The 0 code continues to stay on, even after new paper, and new HP ink cartridges are installed. HELP!!!!

Hi @ontheway76,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The issue you're describing with your HP Envy 6400e printer could be related to several factors. Here are some troubleshooting steps to help resolve the issue.

Check for Error Messages: Look at the printer’s display or HP Smart app for any specific error messages or codes beyond the "0 code" you mentioned.

Paper Jam: Ensure there are no paper jams in the printer. Sometimes, even a small piece of paper can cause issues.

Ink Cartridges: Double-check that the new ink cartridges are installed correctly. Make sure they are seated properly and the protective tape has been removed.

Printer Firmware Update: Ensure your printer has the latest firmware installed. You can update the firmware using the HP Smart app or HP’s official website.

Printer Reset: Try resetting the printer to its default settings:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for about 60 seconds.
  • Plug it back in and turn it on.

Printer Alignment: Sometimes, a printer needs to be realigned after installing new cartridges. Check your printer’s settings or HP Smart app for alignment options.

Network Connection: If you’re printing over a network, ensure the printer is properly connected to your network. Check Wi-Fi settings or try reconnecting the printer to your network.

Printer Software: Make sure you have the latest version of the printer driver installed on your computer. Visit HP’s support website for the latest drivers and software.

Clean Printhead: If the issue persists, you might need to clean the printhead. This can usually be done via the printer’s maintenance settings.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
