I do not know if it is asking for the wifi password or a PIN for WiFI direct.  Try this video below.

Hi @saghi,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Deskjet 2800 wireless printer is asking for a password, it's likely referring to the Wi-Fi network password that it needs to connect to your wireless network. Here's how you can find and enter the Wi-Fi password.

Finding Your Wi-Fi Password

Router Sticker: Check your Wi-Fi router. Often, the default Wi-Fi password is printed on a sticker on the router itself. Look for a label that might say "Network Key," "Password," or "WPA Key." This is the password your printer is asking for.

Router Admin Page: You can also access your router's settings to find the Wi-Fi password. This involves:

  • Open a web browser on a device connected to your Wi-Fi.
  • Enter your router's IP address in the address bar. Common ones are 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1. If these don't work, you may need to look up your specific router model's default IP address.
  • Log in to your router. The default login information is often on the router itself (username and password).
  • Navigate to the wireless settings section to find the Wi-Fi password.

Mobile Device: If you've connected your phone or tablet to the Wi-Fi, you might be able to find the password there:

  • On an iPhone or iPad: Go to Settings > Wi-Fi, then tap the "i" next to your Wi-Fi network's name.
  • On an Android device: Go to Settings > Wi-Fi, then tap on your Wi-Fi network. You might find an option to show the password.

Entering the Wi-Fi Password into HP Deskjet 2800

Once you have the Wi-Fi password:

  1. On the printer's control panel, navigate to the wireless settings or network setup menu.
  2. Choose your Wi-Fi network from the list of available networks.
  3. When prompted for the password, use the printer's controls to enter the Wi-Fi password.
  4. Confirm and save the settings.

This should connect your HP Deskjet 2800 printer to your wireless network. If you continue to have trouble, let me know!

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
