Hi I have been setting up the above printer but I need to set it up on a network. I dont have the network option as it says 'networking capabilities are not available'. When I print out the network config page it says the network capabilities were disabled when the device was set up. I did not disable anything. The user manual says to use the display and go to setup - tools - restore. I dont have a restore option of the printer display. Please can you help me to reset the printer to factory settings. I am an IT Technician so do know what I'm doing.
Kind regards

Hi @CMS61,
Welcome to HP Forums! This is a wonderful location to converse with the community, get assistance and find resolutions. I understand that you don’t have the network option on your printer as it says 'networking capabilities are not available'. I’ll be glad to assist you in this regard. Excellent job looking up the printer’s user manual. It is always a privilege to work with an IT technician like yourself.
However, to answer your question about resetting the printer to factory defaults, this is possible by accessing the front menu on the display.
- Turn off your printer.
- Wait for 10 Seconds before turning it back on again.
- Just as the printer turns on, press the back button (arrow icon) on the front panel of the printer “4 times”.
- If you do it correctly, the support menu should appear.
Accessing the Resets Menu
There are several options under the support menu. To access the resets menu all you need to do is navigate to the right until you find the "resets menu". Under the resets menu, you will find the three different types of resets, the partial reset, semi-full reset and the full reset. Select the appropriate type of reset you need, and your printer should start resetting itself.
The partial Reset
The partial reset just refreshes the printer and clears out unneeded memory from the printer. This type of reset fixes minor printing issues such as slow printing, cartridge errors, etc..
The Semi-Full Reset
The Semi-Full Reset is the most useful type of reset. However, this clears out all the custom settings from your printer and returns it to its default factory settings. Use this reset if the partial reset does not fix the issue.
Please do not perform a Full Reset.

Hi David,
Just wanted to say thanks for the solution to my printer problem. It worked a treat, I have now been able to reset and add to the network with ethernet cable.
First time I have used the discusstion board and am impressed with the quick response. Apologies for taking a bit longer for me to reply, had to find the time to try it out. Sorted today in about 15 minutes.
Many thanks for your help

Hi @DavidSMP
I believe i have a simulair issue.
I have only a wirreless and usb option. But wired is not in the menu and the network config page is saying. This capability was disabled when the device was set up??
I did the semi full reset, but that did not help...
Can you help me out with this?

I was able to access the menu but the only option I see on the RESETS MENU is County/Language Reset. I had recently logged on to my printers EWS and my son had deselected all the boxes in the access control.
I will be waiting for your sincere reply.
Thank you.
