You are welcome.

Check at the Store

HP Store – USA

 Store/HP.com USA Sales

Not your HP store?  Scroll to the bottom of the store website and click the Flag to change regions.

HP Store Customer Service - Examples

For example:  Self-Help Service, Account, Security and Privacy, Tracking, Change Order, Returns and Cancellations, FAQ, Shopping, Shipping and delivery, Rebates / Coupons, Product Support, Parts and services

Start with the Envy models - and move toward the OfficeJet Pro printers.

READ the specifications for the features that are important to you.

At the store, the specifications are listed under the tab Specs.

Scanning

For example, if you scan documents of more than one page, you might want an Automatic Document Feeder.

At the top of the line for printers that include an ADF, you will find OfficeJet Pro printers that can automatically scan two-sided documents.  For example, HP OfficeJet Pro 9010, 9020 models.  "Top of Line" at this writing > HP OfficeJet Pro 9025e.

If you are willing to scan your multi-page documents using the HP Software and are willing to flip the document to capture the second sides, the HP OfficeJet Pro 8000 series might be what you want.

Remember > Two-sided scanning is not the same as two-sided printing.

Printing

At the least, you will perhaps want a printer that automatically prints two-sided documents .

Automatic 2-sided printing is easier than "manual 2-sided print", sometimes.

Check OfficeJet Pro printers for the ability to print Borderless - some models include more sizes of paper and perhaps "not just Photo paper" for the Borderless print feature.

Borderless photo printing is available in many of the Envy printer models.

Be aware - Borderless printing is frequently limited to certain paper sizes and paper types.

An interesting Envy model -- HP ENVY Inspire 7955e

The printer lacks some of the nicer scan features -- the model does include an intriguing feature that supports 2-sided image (photo) printing and support for panoramic photo prints.

In general, like other products, when purchasing a printer you "get what you pay for".

What?  Less expensive = fewer features

Important:

Models that lack a text-input capable printer control panel require that you rely on HP Smart, printer software, and -- for network connected printers -- the Embedded Web Server (EWS).  The printer itself provides a few basic function buttons, lights, and other non-text-input methods to tell you what the printer is doing.

Printers that include a text-input-capable printer control panel also provide access to the printer features using HP Smart, printer software, and -- for networked printers -- the Embedded Web Server (EWS).

Can't decide?  Call the store or chat with a store representative.

Some HP printers are available at other than the HP Store, of course.

Can i bother you with one more question?  i am thinking of getting a HP ENVY 6455e Wireless Color All-in-One Printer from amazon.  this will be the 3rd printer i have ordered.  i looked on the specs and it said borderless printing.   does that mean on all pages (8.5 x 11) or just photos?  i don't print photos, but the things i do print i don't want borders on them unless i put them there.

thank you so much for all your help.

Honestly, I don't know.

True the printer specifications do not include enough detail to be sure.

Given a supported Operating System and the installation of the full driver printer software,

I would guess that Borderless printing is restricted to certain sizes and likely paper types.

For example, you might be able to print your content Borderless on plain paper or Brochure / Professional paper.

Which content?  That's the part that is not obvious without access to the installed driver dialog.

?

HP Store - USA - HP ENVY 6455e All-in-One Printer

There is a phone number at the top of the webpage and an opportunity to "Chat" with a sales representative.

If the sales people know the product well enough, you can get the answer you seek.
