@Dave1213, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your Slow Printing on HP OfficeJet Pro 8022e!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Experiencing slow printing with your HP OfficeJet Pro 8022e can be frustrating. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

Heavier Paper Types:

  • Heavier paper types can slow down the print job as the printer may need to slow the print speed to ensure proper fusing.
  • Solution: Print on a different type of paper if possible.

Complex Pages:

  • Pages with complex content (images, graphs, or large files) might print slowly.
  • Solution: Simplify the page if possible, reducing the complexity of the document.

Printer Malfunction:

  • The printer might be malfunctioning.
  • Solution: Print a Configuration page to check the printer status.

Cartridge Issue:

  • All print cartridges might have reached the end of their life.
  • Solution: Replace the toner cartridges if a "Supplies very low" message is displayed.

Paper Not Pulled Correctly:

  • The product might not be pulling paper correctly.
  • Solution: Ensure the paper is loaded properly in the tray.

USB Cable Issue:

  • The USB cable might be defective or incorrectly connected.
  • Solution: Disconnect the USB cable at both ends and reconnect it, try printing a job that has printed in the past, or use a different USB cable.

Other Devices Interference:

  • Other devices sharing the USB port might interfere with the product.
  • Solution: Disconnect other devices or use separate USB ports.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
