@tmoore7343,

Welcome to the HP Forums!

Thank you for posting your query on this forum, it's a great place to find answers.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

In order that I may provide you with an accurate solution, I will need a few more details.

  • When was the last time the printer was working fine?
  • Have you made any software or hardware changes on the computer?
  • What are you trying to the printer from the Internet?

While you respond to that, I recommend you try using a different browser like Mozilla or Opera and check whether it resolves the issue.

If you continue to face the issue, I recommend you update the printer firmware following the steps in the below article and check if it helps.

Thanks for your response, Fossette. To first answer your questions:

   The current problem that I haven't been able to overcome started 3 days ago, but has occured periodically over the last month. I don't really know how I got past it before - just tried lots of things, probably rebooting.

   there have been no system or hardware changes.

   Just trying to print emails & attachments, airline boarding passes, and hotel reservations.

   I have already updated the firmware, as you suggested; and previously uninstalled the printer and reinstalled using HP's full package download. ( I have the original installation disk, but felt I'd get a more complete, updated product from the website.)

In frustration, I reattached the printer to my pc using the usb cord yesterday, and everything is now working fine.

HOWEVER, this doesn't allow me or my family to print wirelessly from our tablets and phones. So I would still like to solve the problem.

To reiterate, I have been through all the diagnostics in HP Support Ass'y and HP Smart. But I'll try anything else you suggest.

Thanks for your help.
