Printer locked up when printing, I unplugged and plugged back in. Normally this would clear printer back to home screen. This time the printer did not turn on. I tried the reset procedure, ( internal power light is on) by unplugging holding the power button down for 30 seconds and then plugged back in. Still will not turn on. I tried new power supply with same results.
This happened before and after a few days the printer turned on all by itself and returned to normal operation.

@SammyB65 Lets start with power reset as per HP standards, here's how we recommend doing it:
- Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.
- Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
- NOTE:
- HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.
- Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
- Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
- Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.
If the issue persists, please upgrade the printer firmware:
click here for different ways of getting this done using a computer among others.
if none of that worked, this could be a hardware malfunction and I suggest you talk to HP support and discuss your options, follow the below steps to get started:
1) Click on this link - http://www.hp.com/contacthp/
2) Click on Sign-in or select the product using the below step:
3) Enter the serial of your device.
4) Select the country from the drop-down.
5) Click on "Show Options".
Fill the web-form, to populate a case number and phone number for yourself!
Also, if you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty, if yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from,

Thanks for getting back to me with this advise. However the printer will not turn on it is dead dead dead. I done all the resetting and even installed a new power supply. Like I said this happened before and out of the blue the printer turned on all by itself, this has not happened yet. Another note, the internal power light is on but the printer will not turn on.

@SammyB65 If none of that helped, it seems like an intermittent hardware malfunction, please follow the steps suggested in the bottom of my post, and discuss your options of repairing/replacing the printer with HP, and let me know if you need anything else, Good luck!
