HP OfficeJet Pro 9015e All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

officejet 9015 printer cartridge carrier is moved to far right and is locked in place.  Unable to move.  No paper jam.  How to manually move?  No visible obstructions, the carrier is just in locked position and will not move.  All cartridges are HP cartridges.

Hi @shough1,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I see that you are facing an issue with carriage jam on your printer.

A) Please follow the steps below to perform a power drain.

1) Take out the cartridges

2) Unplug the power cord from the printer & wall.

3) Press and hold the power button down for 15 seconds and release the power button, wait for about 30 seconds.

4) Plug the power cord back into the printer and wall, ensure the printer is plugged into the wall & not into a surge protector.

5) Insert the cartridges back into the printer.

Remove the cartridges > Unplug the power cord > Wait for 30 seconds > Plug the power cord back in > Insert the cartridges

B) Kindly refer to the steps on this link to update the printer firmware and let me know if that resolves the issue.

C) Refer to this video link for more information related to Officejet printer carriage jam error.

D) If the issue still persists, tried to move the carriage manually by applying a little pressure if you can access it.

Note: Diconnect the power cable and drain the excess power from the printer before trying to move the carriage manually.

Please mark this post as “Accepted Solution” if the issue is resolved and if you feel this reply was helpful click “Yes”.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day

Unable to remove cartridges. Locked position is hiding access to the cartridges. And, all show as correctly installed when I view inside printer.

Correction. Three cartridges appear they might be ejected where the carriage is locked. Unable to remove cartridges because of locked position. Tried to push cartridges in but each time each cartridge re-ejects after a few seconds.

Paid over $250 for the HP 9015E printer and two weeks after the warranty expired the printer cartridge is locked.  No paper jam or other obstructions so must be a hardware problem.  Wound up throwing the printer in the trash.  This printer was a piece of junk.   Will never buy another HP printer again.  Will buy either an Epson or Brother printer from now on.
