Officejet Pro 6230 - worked fine with Windows 7 and after upgraded to 10 about 6 months ago.  For the last month I have not been able to set print preferences and have them "hold".  They keep changing back to a default that I do not want to use so I am forced to change the preferences individually everytime I print.

I have updated all drivers.  Any other suggestions?

Hello Doriscoghill,

At the outset, i don't think there is any hardware problem with your printer.  You said you were able to use the printer as per your requirement for  6 months after upgrading to Win 10 .

Doris, i would suspect that the windows would have gone through updates in this many months and that would have upset the printer software.

I would suggest you to uninstall the printer driver completely from the computer , and then reinstall.

Your reply will encourage me to post more messages in this forum :generic:

I had tried re-downloading all of the software/drivers - but had not totally deleted and reinstalled.

Thanks for the advise - yes that did work
