I have a officejet pro 8610 Printer and on my Control Panel I have a "Printer Failure" message but it has no error code associated with it, it justs says to contact HP. I am going through the "solutions" and Solution Two says go to the Home Page and click on the ePrint Icon to download the latest updates. My problem is the Control Panel "Home" icon logo is "not lit up" so I can't get to the home page. Any ideas on what I can do.

Thank you for posting your query on HP Community,
Let's try these steps here:
Perform a Hard reset on the printer and make sure that the printer is connected directly to the wall outlet and not to the surge protector.
With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
Remove USB cable, if present.
Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.
Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord and then plug back the power cord to the printer.
Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.
You may also try to update the printer firmware as the error might occur if the printer firmware is outdated. Please try to download the firmware update from the HP website, and then install it on your printer. For more details on how to update the printer firmware, click on this link: HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware
Alternatively, you may also try to attempt to follow the steps suggested in this support document - HP Officejet 8600 Printers - 'Ink System Failure' Error

I have done a "hard reset" as suggested by two different people and I also downloaded the firmware and my computer serial number was listed as not needed. Nothing has worked and "printer failure" is still on my control panel and I still can't do anything on the control panel because it is locked and wont move. We are are using a "non-HP" ink cartridge but it is not new and we have been using for some time. How do I talk to someone "live" is that possible in the evening time and I am in Mountain Time.
