- I've had this printer since January. I lucked out in Feb and didnt need to print anything. Last month, in order to print a page, I needed a driver which required a few phone calls but I got it done. It only took a few hours of time and I'm thinking that's great compared to the last printer I had when I needed assistance. I spoke too soon.
- Once again, I need to print a document and can't. Why? I need a driver. Shock, shock. I call HP and after I identify America as the country I'm currently living in, I'm sent to a recording that tells me I need to hang up and go virtual. Okay, so I hang up and go virtual. I get an assigned case number and now I'm back to calling HP. I'm mildly curious as to why I'm asked if I use my printer for business or personal. Does it matter? Would I get my phone call answered quicker? Next month when I need to print another document and require another 'driver', I'll say business and see what happens.
Somebody answers and says he needs to put me on hold. Shoot me. Anyway, I bring up the hp123 website when I'm asked to. I have it bookmarked, kids. Cong prefers Chrome. I, however, note that even though he prefers Chrome, he's using Edge. I ask permission to close my tabs on Edge. Permission is granted.
One hour, 6 minutes later and Cong has attempted three drivers. The issue is that the other drivers are corrupt.
It's almost like my time means nothing to HP. No, that's not true. There is no 'almost'.. My time really does mean nothing. All I'm doing when I need to print a page is providing somebody with job security.
One hour, 17 minutes later.. Now Cong thinks its my WiFi. The problem now is that the reasons for a printer not printing are becoming repetitious, at best.

OK - sounds like you have a newer printer since last year (threads / issues / posts for Deskjet 3755).
Agents, HP Support, some of our best Community support people all involved...
This time..
Can't print a document (unknown format)
Can't find the printer software.
Consider
Assuming the printer is connected to the correct and separately named SSID network for the bandwidth you are using,
If the new printer won't stay on your network...
If you cannot use / set / maintain a TCP/IP network connection type in Windows for your printer,
If the continued installation of the available printer software / printer applications is not working,
If the software / applications install and then are "lost" (not working),
It might be time to look at your network and its structure.
For example,
Outdated, weak, or otherwise inadequate router / network can cause a number of the issues you have reported over time.
Is that the underlying cause of your problems?
Possibly. It certainly warrants consideration by now - so many connection issues are uncommon.
If you are sure that is not the case, simply ignore the idea and the comments.
If you are not sure, consider upgrading your equipment / router / firmware for that router / connection type.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
What about the printer software??
Like other printers of this general type that work on Windows 10,
the printer supports two main types of printer software in Windows:
- Full Feature Software / Full Driver - Provides support for all applications that need printer software. For example, Word and other Office products, Scanning, various other types of image / document printing.
- HP Smart for Windows - Provides Scanning and Printing for PDF files and Images. Able to "Share" to Windows Mail to "scan to email" and provides access to EWS (Embedded Web Server).
The information / drivers / software you need are available and we can provide basic information for these.
Method - Use the Easy Start Wrapper to Install the Full Feature / Full Driver Software
For printers that support the option,
Use the Easy Start wrapper to install and configure the printer software.
- Home Page - HP Easy Start
- Open Category Software and Drivers
- Topic: Software-Utility
- Download-and-Save the current version of the Easy Start wrapper to install your print software
- If using USB: Disconnect the USB cable between the printer and computer before installing the software.
- Right-Click on the downloaded package and "Run as Administrator" to start the installation
- Select to install the “Full Driver” / “Full Feature Software”
- If using USB: Connect the cable when instructed to do so (near the end of the installation process).
- After the software is installed, Restart the computer and log in.
Notes >> Easy Start... The Journey
- About 2/3 of the way through the setup, you will be given the opportunity to select the software - select the "Full Driver" set (as opposed to the basic driver or other application).
- You can skip / ignore suggestion(s) that you add the HP Account – you’ll need the account at some point, for now, you can skip this suggestion (as many times as it insists it’s a good idea) during the full driver software installation.
- If you see it, you can skip / ignore suggestion(s) regarding Instant Ink subscription. Instant Ink subscription is NOT mandatory.
- Full driver provides print and scan functions supported by your printer.
For example,
Office Word uses the full driver software as a foundation to help you print Word documents
Office Word > File > Print > Printer Properties (shortcuts and other settings)
