just changed Cyan cartridge for the 3rd time, ordered cartridge directly from HP and printer says "one or more cartridges are missing or damaged until cartridges are replaced make sure the printer is turned on to avoid damage to the printer" 

 

I also changed yellow and magenta and they worked fine on the first attempt

I understand the cyan ink cartridge is not working. I see that you have used 3 cyan ink cartridges. 

 

Check if the ink cartridges are properly inserted in the printer, you may refer to - Replace HP inkjet printer cartridges

 

Kindly perform the steps mentioned in this document - Ink cartridge error

 

If the error persists with all 3 ink cartridges, I'm afraid this is a hardware issue with the printhead which is non-removable.
