Hi @KarenD4960,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

The behavior you're seeing on your HP printer — a solid orange “i” (Information) icon and sweeping edge lighting from pink to blue — is an indication that the printer is in a network setup or error state, typically related to Wi-Fi connectivity or HP account registration issues.

1. Complete Setup in HP Smart App

  • Open the HP Smart app on your phone or computer.
  • If the printer is listed, tap it and follow any on-screen prompts to complete setup or sign in to your HP account.
  • If not listed, tap “+” to add the printer and follow the setup steps.

2. Check Internet and Wi-Fi

  • Ensure your device and printer are on the same 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network.
  • Restart your routerprinter, and device.

3. Reset Wi-Fi Setup Mode (if needed)

  • Press and hold the Wireless and Cancel buttons on the printer for 5 seconds.
  • The wireless light should start blinking — this means the printer is ready to be added again via HP Smart.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
