Hi @AnnBeale,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand the orange light on your HP DeskJet 4122e is flashing and your PC is reporting that the driver is not installed, you might need to address a couple of issues:

1. Check Printer Status and Connections

  • Paper Jams: Ensure there are no paper jams or obstructions in the printer.
  • Ink Cartridges: Make sure the ink cartridges are properly installed and not empty.
  • Printer Status: Check if there are any error messages on the printer’s display.

2. Reinstall Printer Drivers

  • Uninstall Existing Drivers:
    1. Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
    2. Find your HP DeskJet 4122e, right-click it, and select Remove device.
    3. Go to Control Panel > Programs and Features and uninstall any existing HP printer software.
  • Download and Install New Drivers:
    1. Visit the HP Support website.
    2. Search for your HP DeskJet 4122e.
    3. Download the latest drivers for Windows 10.
    4. Install the drivers by following the on-screen instructions.

3. Restart Your Devices

  • Restart Printer: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source for a minute, then plug it back in and turn it on.
  • Restart PC: Restart your computer to ensure all changes take effect.

4. Run HP Print and Scan Doctor HP Print and Scan Doctor

  • Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool. It can automatically diagnose and fix common printer issues.

5. Check Network Connections

  • Wireless Connection: If you're using a wireless connection, make sure your printer is connected to the same network as your PC.
  • USB Connection: If you are using a USB connection, ensure the cable is securely connected.
