Hi @Buck_Creek
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
Thanks for flagging that—when the paper tray on your HP OfficeJet Pro 9025e won’t close, it’s usually due to one of three things: misalignment, obstruction, or a tray guide that’s out of place.
Let’s walk through a few quick checks to get it sliding in smoothly again:
🧰 Step-by-Step Fix: Paper Tray Won’t Close
1. Remove the Tray Completely
- Gently pull the tray all the way out.
- Check for any jammed paper, labels, or foreign objects that might be blocking the path.
2. Check the Paper Guides
- Make sure the blue paper width and length guides inside the tray are snapped into place and not sticking out.
- If they’re pushed too far inward or outward, they can block the tray from sliding in.
3. Inspect the Paper Stack
- Remove the paper and fan it out to prevent sticking.
- Make sure the stack is below the max fill line and not curled or bent.
- Reinsert the paper neatly and evenly.
4. Look Inside the Printer
- Use a flashlight to check the tray slot inside the printer for any debris or misaligned parts.
- If you see anything loose or broken, don’t force the tray—let me know what you find.
5. Reinsert the Tray Firmly but Gently
- Slide the tray in straight and level—don’t tilt it upward or downward.
- Apply even pressure until it clicks into place.
