Hi @moniee,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like your HP DeskJet 5075 is encountering a firmware or software issue. Here are a few steps you can follow to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the problem.

Restart the Printer and Computer:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Restart your computer.
  • Plug the printer back in and turn it on after a few minutes.
  • Try printing again.

Clear the Print Queue:

  • On your Windows computer, go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  • Find your HP DeskJet 5075, right-click on it, and select See what's printing.
  • In the print queue window, click on Printer in the top menu and then select Cancel All Documents.
  • Wait for the queue to clear and try printing again.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Visit the HP Support website and search for your printer model.
  • Check if there is a firmware update available for your printer.
  • Follow the instructions to download and install the firmware update.

Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers:

  • Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  • Right-click on your HP DeskJet 5075 and select Remove device.
  • Visit the HP Support website, download the latest drivers for your printer, and install them.
  • Add the printer again in Devices and Printers.

Check for Windows Updates:

  • Make sure your Windows operating system is up-to-date. Sometimes, printer issues are resolved by installing the latest Windows updates.
  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and click on Check for updates.

Reset the Printer:

  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Wait at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet and reconnect the power cord to the printer.
  • Turn the printer on and try printing again.

Check for Paper Jams:

  • Ensure there are no paper jams or obstructions inside the printer. Open all accessible doors and carefully inspect for any stuck paper or debris.

HP Print and Scan Doctor:

  • Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor, which can help diagnose and fix common printing issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
