The print cartridge access door has a broken hinge.  Can it be fixed

The printer is long out of warranty.  HP, if they can / will fix it at all, would likely have to charge perhaps much more than the printer is worth.   This is just a personal comment, by the way, and does not reflect anything HP might say.

The answer depends on

• Whether you can find a local printer repair shop in your neighborhood.  For example:  Use your favorite search engine and look for "printer repair in my area" or, if you have "Location" switched off on your device, search for  "printer repair" and your city name.
• Whether that repair shop can find parts - Call and ask or haul the printer to the shop.
• Whether you believe the repair, assuming it can be made, is worth the time, effort, and cost

OR

If you wish to do so, see if you can get the technician to give you the part number - order the part - attempt the repairs on your own.  This may be a lost cause - consumer grade printers are not meant to be "serviced" at home.  On the other hand, if you have the skill set, it may certainly be possible to do if you can get the parts.

OR

Printer is a "must keep" and "must be running" device?

No other options?  (No repair houses near your location and / or other issues.)

Contact HP and ask whether HP can / will repair the device.

Know that there might be a fee for the service (phone contact / discussion).

Reminders

• Use the serial number of the device to submit the case (do not post that information on the Community).

• Chat is not available in every region. In those areas where Chat is an option, Chat service hours are likely restricted.  In the event that Chat is not available in your region:  Call the number provided in the HP directory, else submit your case online (to receive phone contact information)

• HP will advise you there is a fee for phone support and / or other services when your computer / device is no longer under warranty.  This is normal business practice.

• HP may tell you that certain services are not covered under warranty.  This is normal business practice.  Standard Warranty typically covers specific hardware issues as explained in the Warranty contract. Care Pack coverage and warranties differ by package.

• If the HP Contact (phone) number is not immediately provided:  Contact information is displayed on your screen after you submit your case online.  

• HP websites are the only ones allowed to use the HP copyright circle/logo.  Look for the copyright on any website claiming to be HP. If in doubt, scroll to the bottom of the Website to find HP copyright logo.
