Hi @janewhite451 ,

I see that you are having issues printing the full document, the right side of the page is cut off. Although HP doesn't support Office Software, I am happy to be able to help you as best I can.

Make sure the paper size (US letter) is selected correctly from the application and the print driver. If your margin is too close to the edge of the paper, then the printer won't be able to print it, check the margin settings with the supported margin sizes. Changing Print Settings in Windows 8.

Can you view the full document in Print Preview?

I checked the margin specifications for this model and have provided that information from this link. Printer Specifications for HP Deskjet 2540 and Deskjet Ink Advantage 2545 All-in-One Printer Series.

So the printer isn't borderless, according to the specifications.

I was looking into this issue further and came across a couple of things that you may take a look at.

Check the Margin settings under File>Page Setup to make sure that the right margin is OK.

Also check the paragraph format to make sure that you do not have a negative right indent which could be causing the text to extend into an area that is unprintable by your printer.

If you are still having issues, please contact Microsoft to see if they have further information on this issue.

Hope this helps.

Have a nice day!
Thank You.

Hi,

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly, and for all your time and help on attempting to solve this for me.

Unfortunately, however, the quick answer is that this printer doesn't print borderless, so I'm afraid I've had to buy another printer which does.

Just as feedback, it would be really, really useful to have this information much more readily available (i.e. on the box, at least), as it would have saved me both time and money, as well as a great deal of frustration, had I known before I purchased it that this was not an option.

So your response has indeed answered my question, even though on this occasion it hasn't solved it!

Same problem here too. Wish I'd stuck to what I knew. Not having a colour draft option is also a little frustrating. Ah well, we live and learn.

What logic is there in having those lop-sided margins?!?!?!

Why have 14mm at the bottom and 1.5mm at the top?

Surely a fix can be applied to the drivers to remedy this ludicrous situation?!

HP Recommended

why everytime i print the margin is always not the same and the boarder is missing

Hi, I'm having similar problems. Whether it be word or a pdf file when ever I print, my margins and borders dont print. I found the page border option and margins, however they cannot be changed, and for the page border they are forever off.

Is there something wrong with my settings? (My printer is an HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 2645)

Thanks for an help.

I had the same issue with my Deskjet 2540 printer. I could not print photos or shipping labels because of that border issue. I  kept playing around with print settings and came up with this solution.

For photos, in print settings, make sure to Scale to Fit and Fill Entire Page. Then go to Paper Size.

In Paper Size, choose Manage Custom Sizes... at the very bottom.

And these are the numbers I put for each field. You can play around with the numbers to make it work for you. And once you find the numbers you like, you can rename it and choose that setting every time you have to print that label or photo.

For labels , in printer settings, you can refer to this screenshot to make sure the same settings are selected and choose Page Setup button found at the bottom left corner of window.

In Page Setup, select paper size drop down again,

And again, choose Manage Custom Sizes... found at the bottom

And these are the settings I found work best for my labels with the borders. But you can play around with them and see which works best for you. And again, you can rename that custom size and choose it every time you need to print that photo or label.

I hope this helps someone. This issue drove me crazy. And make sure preview is selected so you can see how it's going to appear when you print it.

en rinting from my ipad wirelessly, itt only prints 1/4 size on yop LH of a4 paper. I tried too use the link you provided to change margins, but it said "invalid  DNS". Why don't you have a "fitt to paper" option ?
