Hi @Coolman33

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

The error code oxB8558b24 on your HP OfficeJet 3830 indicates a general printer issue that could be hardware, software, or firmware related.

Since unplugging and restarting hasn’t resolved the problem, here’s a detailed troubleshooting plan to help you identify and fix the issue:

1. Perform a Hard Reset

A hard reset can clear some internal errors:

Turn off the printer.

Unplug it from the power source and wait for at least 60 seconds.

Plug it back in directly to the wall outlet (avoid using power strips) and turn it back on.

Check if the error persists.

2. Check for Paper or Cartridge Issues

Errors like these can sometimes result from paper jams or cartridge problems:

Inspect for Paper Jams:

Open all access areas (paper input/output trays, ink cartridge area) and remove any stuck paper.

Ensure no small pieces of paper or debris are left behind.

Reinstall Ink Cartridges:

Open the ink cartridge access door and carefully remove the cartridges.

Reinsert them securely and close the door.

3. Update Firmware

HP regularly releases new firmware versions for printer enhancements, app updates, or issue fixes. Update the firmware regularly to get the most out of your printer.

Click on the link below for instructions on how to update the firmware of your printer.

4. Reset Network Settings

If the printer is connected via Wi-Fi, resetting network settings might help:

On the printer control panel, go to Settings > Printer Maintenance > Restore Network Settings.

Reconnect the printer to your Wi-Fi network using the HP Smart app.

5. Run HP Print and Scan Doctor

Use HP’s diagnostic tool to identify and fix printer errors:

Download HP Print and Scan Doctor.

Install and run it on your computer.

Follow the on-screen instructions to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.

6. Perform a Factory Reset

A factory reset can clear more persistent errors:

On the printer control panel, navigate to Settings > Printer Maintenance > Restore Factory Defaults.

Follow the prompts, and reconfigure the printer after the reset.

Take care, and have an amazing day!
