Hi @NEL99

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thank you for sharing that—and I’m truly sorry you’re facing this issue. When your HP ENVY 6458e shows only a solid blue light while all other lights remain off, it typically means the printer is stuck in Wi-Fi setup mode or has lost connection to your network.

Let’s walk through a few steps to help restore full functionality:

1. Confirm the Meaning of the Blue Light

A solid blue light near the wireless icon usually indicates that the printer is connected to Wi-Fi. However, if no other lights are active and the printer is unresponsive, it may be in a partial setup state or idle mode.

HP provides a detailed guide on interpreting light behavior:

2. Restart the Printer

A simple power cycle can often reset the internal state:

  • Disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  • Wait 30 seconds.
  • Reconnect the power cord and press the power button to turn it on.

Observe whether the control panel lights up and whether the printer becomes responsive.

3. Reconnect Using HP Smart App

If the printer is stuck in setup mode, reinitiating the connection through HP Smart may help:

  • Open the HP Smart app on your phone or PC.
  • Tap “Add Printer” and follow the prompts to reconnect.
  • If prompted, enable Web Services and complete the setup.

You can reinstall the app if needed:
Download HP Smart App

4. Reset Network Settings

If the printer remains unresponsive, reset its network configuration:

  • Press and hold the Wireless and Cancel buttons together for 5 seconds.
  • The blue light will blink, indicating the printer is ready for setup.

Then reconnect using HP Smart as described above.

5. Update Firmware

Outdated firmware can cause connectivity and responsiveness issues.

You deserve a reliable, responsive device—and I’ll stay with you until it’s fully restored.
