HP Photosmart 375

Hey there,

my HP Photosmart 375 gives a message in the display requesting to add plain paper then press the OK button.  after doing thsi, nothing happens.  I attempted to reset the printer by removing the cable and ink cartridge but this did not change its request after booting up.

on light blinks red, none of the buttons do anything.  I cannot access the menu, cannot cancel, OK does nothing.

I suspect that a paper sensor doesn't recognize that paper has been inserted, but a general inspection seemed to show all parts moving correctly.

a) is there a keypad combination to get around this request?

b) is there a hardware tweek I can do myself to override this request?

Thanks,

Fondue

Hello, @Fondue

I see that you were interacting with @sandytechy20. He is out of office & I'd like to help 🙂

It looks like an issue with the printer hardware. You have already tried all the steps to try and fix the issue and the next option is to go for printer repair options or to upgrade the machine considering the printer is an obsolete unit.

If you have any troubles, let me know and I will do my best to help!

Cheers 🙂

@Fondue

This is a great location to get assistance! I read your post and see that you are getting "printer alignment load plain paper then press OK" error on HP Photosmart 375 Printer.

As you have already tried these steps and still having the issue, I would personally suggest you contact our HP phone support for further assistance. If your product is Out of warranty then remember to choose the paid options to get the tech support number.

They might have multiple options to help you on this.

Please use the following link to create yourself a case number, then call and it may help speed up the call process:

Step 1. Open link: www.hp.com/contacthp/

Step 2. Enter Product number or select to auto detect

Step 3. Scroll down to "Still need help? Complete the form to select your contact options"

Step 4. Scroll down and click: HP contact options - click on Get phone number and phone number appear.

They will be happy to assist you immediately.

Keep me posted for any other assistance,

Cheers.

Thank you for your reply @sandytechy20  - ironically, it was that procedure you suggest below which recommended I come to this  forum and post the issue here as my product has been out of warranty since 2011.

Is the printer completely useless now?

Appreciate any further assistance!
