Welcome to the HP Forums.
I hope you're well @Help44,

I understand your Officejet 8620 will not power off when you hold in the power button, and I wanted to reach out to help.

My suggestions would be to try a power reset on the printer, and ensure the printer is plugged in directly to a wall outlet to begin. If that does not help, try checking for a firmware update. If all else fails, call phone support to see about a replacement unit with HP. Here are all of the links to help!

Reset:

With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the unit.
Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
Wait at least 15 seconds.
Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the unit.
If the printer does not turn on by itself, press the Power button to turn it on.
