For the last week every time i print the first time every day the printer requests an alignment. I have always used genuine HP cartridges. I am burning through papaer and ink.
At one point two days ago, I got a message that one of the cartridges might not be a genuine HP cartridge.
What is causing the daily alignment need?

@gregplv, Welcome to HP Support Community!
The printer aligns itself when you replace the ink cartridges, if the alignment process is not completed it gets initiated every now and then.
Follow steps from the document Alignment Errors to isolate and resolve the issue.
Also, Update the printer firmware
Download available firmware updates from the HP website
With the printer on and connected to the computer, go to HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads, and then identify your printer. Look for and install any available firmware updates. Refer to the document HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware
