After five minuets of turning on the printer, the wireless connection is lost between my laptop and printer. This happens to all three of my laptops, One uses XP operation system, one vista, and one windows 10. Recycling the printers power switch gives me another five minuets of printer 0peration before the wireless connection is lost again. The printer always shows it is connected to the internet. Running the printers network configuration page, when the printer problem occurs, shows no printer problems. The wireless light is always on with good signal strength. I am using a AT&T gateway for internet access.

Thanks for engaging in HP support Forums! This is a wonderful location to converse with the community, get assistance and find tips! I understand you are having issues related to your HP Printer. Don't worry we'll work together to help you find a solution.
To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:
Could you provide me with the model of the printer? Use this link to find it: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c03754824 (Ensure you do not share any of your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc...).
Have you recently made any changes on the printer before the issue started?
Have you tried to run HP Print and Scan doctor?
Have you tried to follow any HP Article?
In the meantime, let's try these steps here:
Hard reset on the printer, router, computer and other devices on the same network.
The following steps temporarily disconnect network and Internet connections and require restarting your computer. Complete any tasks or downloads in progress before continuing.
1. Press the Power button on the printer to turn it off.
2. Disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
3. Disconnect the power cord from the wireless router.
4. Turn off the computer.
5. Wait for 30 seconds.
6. Reconnect the power cord to the wireless router.
7. Wait for 30 seconds, or until the router is fully on and ready
8. Turn the computer back on.
9. Wait for the computer to reload
10. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
11. Turn the printer back on.
If you’re running Windows, I would start by checking the installed printer software by downloading and running the HP Print and Scan Doctor. This tool can diagnose and fix many printing and printer software related issues. Please use this link to help you with that information: http://hp.care/2biN2XE
Alternatively, you can go through these steps here: HP Printers - Printer Does Not Maintain Wireless Connection
HP Printers - Printer is Offline (Windows)
Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance!
Eagerly waiting for your response!
I hope you have a good day ahead,
And Feel free to ask your queries as this forum has some of the best people in the world available and ready to help.

Thank you for your fast response. My model number is SNPRB-1204-02. The hard reset did not work. The HP scan and printer doctor found that, after five minuets of turning the printer on, the printer and pc are unable to communicate. They are connected to different networks. Then what is a little confusing, states the computer is connected to april1 and the printer is connected to april1. april1 being my network. Then in red print it states, the printer and computer are in same network. It asked me to check and set the following router settings,WPS (disable) ,IPV6 (disable),MAC FILTERING ( not installed on my router),NPNA (disable),CHANNEL( gives three choices). Changing the router settings did not fix my printer problem. Running HP scan and printer doctor within five minuets of turning on the printer shows all green check marks.

Thank you for replying,
I did try to pull up the information using the model number, unfortunately, we're unable to find any information. Could you please provide me with the product number of the printer?
Just wanted to check If the issue is taken care or are you still having issues with the printer losing internet connection.
Have you tried to assign a Manual IP address on the printer, Here are the steps below:
Is the printer connected to the network? Check the wireless light. If the light is steady blue, then the printer is connected to the network. If the light is flashing, then the printer is not connected to the network. Go to Setup - Network - Wireless setup wizard to connect the printer to the newtork.
Once the printer is connected to the network, then assign a static IP to the printer:
- Obtain the IP address of the printer – You can touch the “wireless” icon on the printer control panel to get the IP address.
- Type the IP address on your web browser to obtain the printer EWS page on your computer.
- Go to "Network" tab - General - Select "Network protocols" - Select "Enable IPv4 only" (or similar) - Apply the settings.
- Go to the “Network” tab – Click on “Wireless (802.11) – Then click on “Network address (IPv4)
- Click on the radio button which says “Manual IP” and then click “Suggest a manual IP address” to give a manual IP address to your printer.
- Click on radio button which says “Manual DNS Server” and under manual preferred type 8.8.8.8 and under manual alternate type 8.8.4.4 (This is Google DNS server address)
Could you please respond to this post with the details of the product, so that I can provide you with an accurate steps which should help you resolve this issue.
Eagerly waiting for your response!

Thank you for your continuing support. Before I make any more changes I would like to input some thoughts. The good doctor had me disable several functions on my modem including IPV6 and WPS which you will agree is a helpful function. I do not want to go to far down the road without knowing how to get back. I have a HP Deskjet 722c printer hardwired to a HP Pavilion a250n computer which is hardwired to the modem. Neither the printer or the computer by themselves have wirerless capability. I can print wirelessly all day long from my windows XP computer using this setup. I can only print for the first five minuets from turning on the 2540 series printer. Why one and not the other on the same computer? I can not help thinking this five minuet window is not some sort of a clue. It is not that the printer stops working somewhere between turn on and five minuets, it stops working at the stroke of five for all there of my computers. It is like a swtich was turned off at five minuets no earlier , no later.
