every time I print anything there is an error message on the printer that I have to clear before I can print the document.  there is nothing wrong with the printer except this stupid message.  the message is "A PROBLEM HAS OCCURRED WITH YOUR HP ACCOUNT AND YOU WILL BE UNABLE TO PRINT VERY SOON UNLESS THE ISSUE IS RESOLVED"  since there is no problem at my end this must be a HP problem.  I do not want an HP account and have not used the HP account please stop causing me problems with this printer.

Hi @cainhouy

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

That error message is definitely frustrating, especially since you don’t use an HP account and shouldn’t be blocked from printing.

This issue seems to be related to HP’s Instant Ink or HP+ services, which sometimes require an active account to function properly.

Possible Solutions:

Check HP Web Services Settings

  • Open the printer’s Embedded Web Server (EWS) by entering its IP address in a web browser.
  • Navigate to Web Services and disable any HP account-related features.

Disable HP Instant Ink (If Applicable)

  • If you previously enrolled in Instant Ink, even accidentally, HP may be restricting printing.
  • Log into HP Instant Ink and check if there’s an active subscription.

Perform a Hard Reset on the Printer

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it for 60 seconds.
  • Plug it back in and restart to see if the error disappears.

Update the firmware on an HP printer

  • HP regularly releases new firmware versions for printer enhancements, app updates, or issue fixes. Update the firmware regularly to get the most out of your printer.
  • Click on the link below for instructions on how to update the firmware of your printer.

your suggestions did not work.  HP has suggested to reinstall the printer as a fix.  that will not work as a fix only as a TEMP work around.  HP needs to figure out the problem and fix it.  the problem is on HP not the customer.

A miracle has occurred the error message is gone.  will monitor to see if it comes back.  Nothing changed on my end so I wonder what changed?  maybe HP resolved their issue here?

@Hawks_Eye is unavailable right now, but I'm here and I'd love to help you!

Thanks for the update — really glad to hear the error message has disappeared!

You're absolutely right to question it — if nothing changed on your end, it's very possible HP made a backend update.

Appreciate you keeping an eye on it, and please don’t hesitate to reach out if it returns. We’re here to help, and you shouldn’t have to deal with unnecessary interruptions when printing.
