I continue to get Printer Failure message 0x6100004a and have tried all of the suggested solutions several times - there is no paper jam, ink is installed correctly, did the unplug things too. Nothing over two days of trying. I was printing successfully , then it just quit. What do I do? Also the print carriage is stuck to the right side of the interior. I cleaned that prior to it quitting too. I'm ready to toss this thing. Any help?

Hi @Lucy20244,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you've already tried several troubleshooting steps, but let's try to go through some additional troubleshooting options.
Reset the printer: Sometimes, resetting the printer can resolve various issues. To reset your HP OfficeJet 6958 All-In-One Printer, follow these steps:
- Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.
- Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
- Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
Check for obstructions: Ensure there are no obstructions blocking the carriage movement. Even a small piece of debris can cause the carriage to become stuck. Use a flashlight to thoroughly examine the interior of the printer.
Manually move the carriage: If the carriage is stuck, you can try manually moving it to the left side of the printer. Make sure the printer is turned off before attempting this. Gently push the carriage to the left side of the printer. If it's difficult to move, do not force it.
Inspect for damaged components: Check for any visible damage to the carriage or other internal components of the printer. If you notice any damage, it may require professional repair.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
