HP Officejet 6700 Premium e-All-in-One Printer - H711n

My HP 6700 will not print.  It displays "The error reads; "Printer Failure - There is a problem with the printer or ink system.  Turn printer off, then on.  If problem persists, contact HP".

To date i have tried:

Ink flush & printhead cleaning kit, flushed it with syringe, let it dry and reinstalled new ink cartridges as recommended.

Full unplugging from wall & printer, letting it set for 60 seconds and replugging it back in to do a "soft reset".

New HP 932xl & 933 ink cartridges (currently installed).

Searching the HP forum but nothing more than what i list above.

Please help......:-(

Hi @vincezup,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you've already tried a lot of the standard troubleshooting steps. Here are a few additional things you might consider.

  • Check for Error Messages or Codes: Sometimes, the printer might have specific error codes or messages that can provide more details. Check the display for any additional codes or messages that might help in diagnosing the issue.
  • Inspect the Printhead: Even though you've already performed some cleaning, double-check the printhead for any visible damage or obstruction. Ensure the contacts on the printhead and inside the printer are clean and not clogged with ink.
  • Reset to Factory Defaults: Some users have found that performing a full factory reset can resolve persistent issues. Look for the option in the printer's menu to restore factory settings.
  • Update Firmware: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer. Sometimes, updating the firmware can resolve issues related to printer errors.
  • Check for Paper Jams: Ensure there are no paper jams or obstructions inside the printer that could be causing the error.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
