printer has been flashing all lights and E6. Completed the restart/unplug 6 different times as instructed by the forum. Completed the factory reset. Still flashing the same. Called the hp support and spent 30 mins on the phone for them to tell me to do the same thing then say I had to call back "right after 2-3 hours." I am not available in 2-3 hours. Wasted my time

Hi @Susy12,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand how frustrating this must be. Error code E6 generally indicates a severe issue with the printer, and if restarting and factory resetting haven't resolved the problem, there are a few more steps you can try before seeking further assistance from HP support.
Additional Steps to Troubleshoot Error Code E6
Check for Obstructions
- Open the printer and carefully inspect for any paper jams or foreign objects that might be obstructing the print carriage or other moving parts.
Reinstall Cartridges and Printhead
- Turn off the printer and unplug it.
- Open the printer and remove all ink cartridges and the printhead.
- Reinsert the printhead and cartridges, ensuring they are properly seated.
Clean Contacts
- Clean the contacts on the cartridges and the printhead using a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled water. Allow them to dry completely before reinserting.
Perform a Secondary Reset
- Sometimes a secondary reset method is available for certain models. This may involve holding down specific buttons while turning on the printer. Refer to your printer's manual for any special reset procedures.
Firmware Recovery Mode
- Some HP printers have a firmware recovery mode that can be accessed in specific ways. Check the HP support site or user manual for instructions on entering firmware recovery mode.
Power Supply Check
- Ensure that the printer is plugged directly into a wall outlet and not into a power strip or surge protector, as power fluctuations can sometimes cause issues.
Ventilation
- Ensure the printer is in a well-ventilated area to avoid overheating, which can sometimes cause hardware issues.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
