printer heads failed

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand your HP Smart Tank 7301 All-in-One Printer is showing a printhead failure. Is that correct? If it’s getting an error, here’s what you can try to do:

1. Check for Error Lights or Messages


2. Reseat the Printheads

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it.
  • Open the ink access door and gently remove both the black and tricolor printheads.
  • Wipe the copper contacts with a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water.
  • Reinsert them firmly until they click into place.
  • Close the door and power the printer back on.


3. Run Printhead Cleaning

  • From the printer control panel or HP Smart app, go to Settings > Maintenance > Clean Printhead.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions.


4. Update Firmware
