My printer will COPY and print. It will also print a Status Page. When i try to print a file, it tells me that the printer is in "error State"? was it hit with a surge? Stan

Hi @stan572112,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
Thanks for the detailed description! Since your HP DeskJet Plus 4152 All-in-One Printer can copy and print a status page but shows an "error state" when printing files from Windows 11, it’s likely a software or driver-related issue, not a hardware issue.
Step-by-Step Fix for “Printer in Error State” (Windows 11)
1. Restart Printer and PC
- Turn off the printer and unplug it for 60 seconds.
- Restart your computer.
- Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
2. Check Windows Printer Status
- Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.
- Select your printer and click Open Queue.
- Make sure it’s not paused or set to offline.
3. Reinstall Printer Driver
- Uninstall the printer from Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.
- Download and reinstall the latest driver: 👉 HP DeskJet Plus 4152 All-in-One Printer Software and Driver Downloads | HP® Support
4. Check for Windows Updates
- Go to Settings > Windows Update and install any pending updates.
5. Try Printing from the HP Smart App
Sometimes, bypassing the default print path helps: 👉 HP Smart - Free download and install on Windows | Microsoft Store
I hope this helps.
Take care, and have an amazing day!
