Hi @afafsh,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Check USB Connection: Ensure that the USB cable is securely connected to both the printer and your computer. Try using a different USB cable or port to rule out any problems with the current cable.

Printer Drivers: Ensure that you have the correct printer drivers installed. You can download the latest drivers from the HP Support website.

Printer Status: The red light might indicate a specific error such as a paper jam, ink cartridge issue, or that a door is open. Check the printer's control panel for any specific error messages and resolve accordingly.

Restart Devices: Turn off the printer and your computer. Wait a few seconds, then turn them back on. This can resolve minor connectivity issues.

Software Update: Make sure your computer and HP Smart app are updated to the latest versions.

USB Settings: Ensure that your computer's USB ports are enabled in the BIOS settings.

I hope this helps.

I'm glad I could help! 😊 If this resolved your issue, please mark it as "Accepted Solution" and click "Yes" on "Was this reply helpful?" Your feedback not only keeps us going but also helps others find the solution faster! 👍
