If the screen is hanging at 1/ 6 you likely have a hardware issue that will require replacement of parts. First thing to look at would be formatter. You should unplug the printer, remove the formatter, this is the board where the network card or usb cable is plugged into and then power on the printer. The screen will be blank but you should hear some noises as the print mechanism initializes. Make sure you have paper in tray 2 and then look on the back of the printer for a small hole. Use a small plastic or wooden stick to press the button located in this hole. If a page prints, then most likely the formatter has failed.
You can try to reset the printer. Reinstall the formatter and power on the printer. Watch the screen and when a black line appears under the HP logo, immediately press the X button. Printer should boot into a blue screen. Navigate to administration>startup options and select "Cold reset". Then use the back arrow to get back to continue and select OK. If printer does still does not come to ready after restart you will need a formatter for sure.
If the printer does not printer during the test with the formatter out you likely have either a bad DC controller or a power supply issue.
