printer maintenance EVERY TIME I PRINT!

No one has ever answered why printer performs a time consuming maintenance EVERY time I have to print...anyone get this worked out?

Possible reasons for repeating maintenance cycles include (and are not limited to):

Something is wrong that the self-maintenance process cannot correct regardless of how many times it tries to do so

Run a manual check / correction for printing issues:

 Black or Color Ink Not Printing, Other Print Quality Issues

The printer is in some sort of odd "fugue" state 

Printer would benefit from a printer Restart and (possibly) a Firmware Update

 Printer Turns Off Unexpectedly or Repeatedly

Step 2: Restart the printer

Step 3: Update the Firmware

Printer Hardware is shot, worn out, suffering from wear and tear

There is no actual fix for this one.

If you are correct that the printer is attempting to repeatedly run maintenance cycles,

This idea is the less likely reason for the repeated maintenance runs...

Printer software is missing or corrupted

Printer Settings for the current job (for example paper size / type) are missing or incorrect

If you have not done so,

Reinstall / Update your PDF Reader (Adobe Reader DC /Optional  Foxit Reader)

HINT:  Watch out for and UNCHECK unwanted extra software

NOTE:  Adobe Reader DC software can be installed even if you do not normally open / view / print PDF files directly from the Adobe Reader DC software.
