Hi @Jayujanu143,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thank you for reaching out — we understand how frustrating it can be when your printed pages don’t match the size or scale you’re expecting. Let’s carefully walk through this together and get your printer back on track.

Steps to Fix the Scale Issue

On Windows

  1. Open the file you want to print.
  2. Press Ctrl + P (or choose File > Print).
  3. In the print window:
    • Select HP Smart Tank 585 as your printer.
    • Click Printer Properties or Preferences.
    • Make sure Paper Size matches the actual paper in the tray (like A4 or Letter).
  4. In the print dialogue:
    • Look for a setting like Scale, Page Scaling, or Fit to Page.
    • Choose Actual Size or 100% to print without automatic resizing.
  5. Click OK and Print.

On MacOS

  1. Open your document and click File > Print.
  2. Select HP Smart Tank 585.
  3. In the print dialogue:
    • Make sure the Paper Size is correct.
    • Set Scale to 100%.
    • Or choose Scale to Fit > Print Entire Image/Document if you want to adjust it proportionally.
  4. Click Print.

Check HP Smart App Settings

If you’re using the HP Smart app:

  • Open the app.
  • Go to Print Settings before printing.
  • Confirm paper size and scaling options match your needs.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
