Hi @bosselkhound,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

It seems that your printer is experiencing a technical issue that is causing it to remain on and unresponsive. Here are some steps you can try to resolve this issue:

Perform a Power Reset:

  • Turn off the printer by unplugging the power cord from the back of the printer.
  • Unplug the other end of the power cord from the power source.
  • Wait for about 60 seconds.
  • Reconnect the power cord to the printer and then to the power source.
  • Turn on the printer to see if the issue is resolved.

Check for Paper Jams:

  • Open the printer and check for any paper jams or obstructions. Remove any paper that may be stuck in the tray or print path.

Ensure Correct Installation of Cartridges:

  • Make sure that the printer cartridges are installed correctly. Check if the cartridge doors are properly closed.

Run a Wireless Diagnostic Test:

  • If your printer has a Wireless button, press it to open the Wireless menu on the display, and select the option to run a wireless network test. This might give you more information about whether connectivity issues are affecting functionality.

Check Printer Display for Error Messages:

  • Look at the printer's display screen for any error messages or codes that could indicate what the problem might be.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • If possible, check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer on https://support.hp.com/us-en. Updating the firmware can resolve various hardware and software issues.

    I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!

Hi Jerry

Thanks for your response. However I had already done Items 1-3 and cannot do a wireless diagnostic test as none of the buttons do anything,,,whatever you press all the flashing continues as if the whole thing is frozen

Hi @bosselkhound,

Thank you for your response.

It looks like a hardware issue.

May if the printer is under warranty?

If it's under warranty, our team will take a live lens and check the settings once.
