My printer recently began printing in symbols on any type of document I am trying to print from my computer. It will continue to print the sent document with maybe 50 symbols per page to a page full of symbols and the printer will not stop printing until it runs out of paper, or I stop the print job using the printer touch screen. The printer prints perfectly if I send the document from my Iphone or Ipad. I have rebooted everything (router, printer computer) several times with no change. I have had the system check for driver issues and all answers are that the printer is working properly and has the proper driver.

@GKSpringer, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer printing symbols!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Since the issue only happens when printing from your Windows 11 computer, it’s likely related to the printer driver or how the computer is communicating with the printer. Here are a few steps to try:
Remove and Reinstall the Printer Driver
Uninstall the Printer:
Open Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
Find your HP ENVY Photo 7858, right-click it, and select Remove device.
Restart your computer.
Reinstall the Driver:
Go to the HP Support Page and download the latest driver for your printer model.
Install it and follow the on-screen instructions to set up your printer again.
Try a Different Print Driver
Sometimes, using a different driver can fix weird printing issues.
Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers, right-click your printer, and select Printer Properties.
Under the Advanced tab, try selecting a different driver like HP Universal Print Driver (PCL6) if available.
Reset the Print Spooler
Press Win + R, type services.msc, and hit Enter.
Scroll down to Print Spooler, right-click, and select Restart.
Try printing again.
Check for Windows Updates
Make sure your Windows 11 system is fully up to date, as updates can sometimes fix driver conflicts.
If none of these steps work, let me know, and we’ll dig a little deeper. We’ll get your printer back to normal in no time! 😊
Take care, and have an amazing day!
