Hi @Bajazit

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

That error code 0xc19a0023 typically points to a printhead issue—either it's clogged, malfunctioning, or not properly seated. It can also be triggered by faulty or low-ink cartridges. Here’s a step-by-step approach to get your HP OfficeJet Pro 8720 back on track:

Step 1: Check the Ink Cartridges and Printhead

  1. Turn off the printer and disconnect the power cord.
  2. Open the ink cartridge access door and wait for the carriage to stop moving.
  3. Remove the ink cartridges from the printer and inspect them for any damage or leaks.
  4. Inspect the printhead and check for any clogs or ink buildup. If necessary, gently clean the printhead using a clean, lint-free cloth dampened with distilled water.

Step 2: Reset the Printer

  1. Turn off the printer using the power button and unplug the power cord from the back of the printer and the wall outlet.
  2. Wait for at least 60 seconds.
  3. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet and then into the printer.
  4. Turn on the printer and check if the error persists.

Step 3: Perform a Printhead Cleaning

  1. Load paper into the input tray.
  2. On the printer control panel, swipe down to open the Dashboard, and then press the Setup icon.
  3. Select Printer Maintenance.
  4. Select Clean Printhead and follow the on-screen instructions.

Step 4: Update Printer Firmware Update the firmware on an HP printer | HP® Support

  1. Go to the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads website.
  2. Enter your printer model, HP OfficeJet Pro 8720, and select your operating system (Windows 11).
  3. Download and install any available firmware updates.
