Hi @kuni6632,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand the E4 error on an HP Smart Tank 675 printer typically indicates a paper jam issue, but since you mentioned that there is no paper jam, it might be a different problem. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the E4 error:
Check Paper Path:
- Even if you don't see a jam, carefully inspect all areas of the paper path, including the input and output trays, and the rear of the printer. Sometimes small bits of paper or debris can cause an error.
Reset the Printer:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait for about 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.
Remove and Reinsert Paper Tray:
- Remove the paper tray, make sure it's free of any obstructions, and then reinsert it.
Check for Obstructions:
- Open all accessible areas of the printer (like the ink cartridge area and the rear panel) and check for any foreign objects or paper scraps.
Inspect the Rollers:
- Sometimes paper rollers can get dirty or misaligned. If you're comfortable, you can gently clean the rollers with a lint-free cloth lightly dampened with water.
Update or Reinstall Drivers:
- Ensure that your printer drivers are up to date. You can visit HP's official website to download the latest drivers for your model.
- Alternatively, you can uninstall the printer from your computer and reinstall it to ensure you have the correct drivers.
