HP OfficeJet Pro 8025 All-in-One Printer

I bought the original printer early 2021. It quit working after a year, cartrige issues, and was sent a replacement. The replacement printer worked correctly for 9 months and is now not functioning. Of course, the original warranty has expired, even though the new replacement printer is less than a year old. THE ISSUE: When switched on it begins its start-up process, but stalls with the buffering circle and the message "Checking the printer. Please wait."  After a few minutes with that screen the entire screen goes black. The white power light and blue network lights stay on, but the screen does not respond to anything. I have tried turning it on and off, have tried unplugging from both the printer and the wall and waiting and re-starting. Every time the same thing happens. Thanks in advance for any help.
