Hi @Ebbie2,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The "Paper Mismatch" error on your HP DeskJet Plus 4155 All-in-One Printer typically occurs when the paper size or type set in the print settings doesn't match the paper loaded in the tray. Here's how to resolve the issue.

Check Paper Settings in the Print Dialog:

  • When printing, check the paper size and type in the print dialog (e.g., Letter, A4, etc.).
  • Ensure the selected paper size matches the paper loaded in the input tray.

Verify Paper Size on the Printer:

  • On the HP Smart App or printer software:
    1. Go to Printer Settings.
    2. Look for Paper Size and Paper Type.
    3. Ensure they match the paper in the tray.

Reload the Paper:

  • Remove the paper from the input tray.
  • Check for:
    • Creases or curled paper.
    • Paper jams or stuck pieces.
  • Reload the paper neatly, making sure the guides are snug against the stack.

Align and Calibrate the Printer:

  • Perform an alignment:
    1. Open the HP Smart App.
    2. Go to Printer Maintenance or Tools.
    3. Run an alignment and print a test page.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Outdated firmware can cause printing issues.
    1. Open HP Smart or go to the HP Support website.
    2. Download and install any available firmware updates for your printer.

Reset the Printer:

  • Power off the printer.
  • Unplug it from the power source for 60 seconds.
  • Plug it back in and turn it on.

Adjust Printer Preferences:

  • On Windows:
    1. Go to Devices and Printers.
    2. Right-click your printer > Printer Preferences.
    3. Ensure the default paper size is set correctly.
  • On Mac:
    1. Open System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
    2. Adjust the paper size and type settings.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

I have the same error and the paper DOES match the size selected in the print dialog box.  I only use 81/2 by 11 plain paper and that is what is selected.  (The only plain paper HP gives as a selection also says recycled but I don't think that would be pertinent.  HP gives no unrecycled option.)  I am printing from a brand new Envy 6100E printer.  I can override the error, but am not usually in the same room as the printer so it is a hassle.  Why is it doing this?  I have disconnected the printer many times to solve other printing problems, so that advice does not help.  And printer is on latest firmware.

Thank you.
